The Erbs: A Founding Family of Royal Oak
As a founding family of the City of Royal Oak, the Erb Family has a deep, rich history in the community dating back to 1856. As merchants, retailers, bankers, and owners of the Erb-Kidder Lumber Company, they helped build the city over the past two centuries. Today, nearly 170 years later, the family’s legacy lives on through the work of the Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation.
